Shape memory alloys are class of materials that exhibits unique behaviors such as shape memory and superelasticity through which the applied deformation can be completely recoverable. This talk will introduce them and their applications. The fundamental mechanism governing their unique behaviors will be highlighted. The importance of using SMA’s in certain applications will be discussed in detail. The current research trend will be presented in brief.

Note: The presentation is aimed for a general audience working/interested in any field of science
